artists statement

Movement allows me to communicate what words cannot. As a choreographer, I work at the intersection of contemporary dance and simple groovy movement crafting narratives that speak to my identity and lived experience. I choreograph to explore where memory lives in the body. Through rhythmic and asymmetrical movement, I investigate how personal histories shape physical expression.

My work seeks to connect audiences through cathartic and feel-good pieces that can help you take a deep breath as
you’re leaving the theatre.
As I continue to learn and deepen my choreographic voice, I stay wondering about how dance
can serve as a tool for social dialogue and expressive storytelling.

What about outside of dance?

I love live music, teaching yoga classes, taking pilates classes and going out with my friends. I believe all these things are important, because all these hobbies that make me happy inspire my choreography heavily!
